These things were nearly indestructible and they were one of the best off roaders in the mid-late 80s.
Their kryptonite was... rust, sadly. Hard to find good examples that aren't rust buckets or lifted.

Gah don't remind me. My friend parked the pickup version of this in row 1 whistler parking lot. Stolen and never seen again.

Just sold an '85 that I attempted to bring back form the dead. Re did the engine, most of the suspension, the interior and well, gave up once I started getting into the never-ending body work.
My next car will be something I car or truck will be something I can just get in and drive and enjoy.

I prefer my 1990 Toyota Pickup. Unfortunately I have the 3VZFE in it. I just rolled over 200K the other day :D

What a good car I miss mine so much. They are excellent off road with the good low range box and your right rust on these are awful. The Japanese cars of that era had the worst steel, they were rusting on the way over here
